Wastewaters monitoring systems

This category includes all the available wastewater monitoring systems up to date. Depending on the purpose for which the system is needed, they can be divided in:

  • Systems for collecting and monitoring wastewaters before free release (WDMS NT-VK)
  • Systems for spectrometry measurements on wastewater samples (LEM)

These systems are employed in hospitals, nuclear power plants, research centres, and in all applications where there is a need of monitoring wastewaters that may contain radioactive isotopes before releasing them.

The LEM system allows to sample the liquid effluents and to perform a gross gamma measurement of the samples in Marinelli geometry. The system is designed to survey the activity released through liquid effluents, performing the calculation of volumetric activity of the samples.

The WDMS NT-VK system is designed to collect and monitor radioactive wastewaters, which can obtain the free release only after their radioactivity drops under the values allowed by the laws in force.

NT: Number of Tanks, indicates how many decay tanks are used in the system

VK: Volume in Kiloliters, indicates the volume of each decay tank expressed in kiloliters
